At Spin pulse, a heart rate monitor strapped around your chest enables you to monitor your pulse. This is both a great motivational carrot and a really good way to learn about how your training feels in different ‘pulse zones’.
During the session, you see your heart rate and effort level projected on the wall in front of you (although only you know which measurements are yours). The heart rate monitor helps you to modify your level of exertion during your workout: to not push yourself too hard during the warm-up and to dare to really go for it during the heavier parts of the session.
Before the workout begins, you will borrow a heart rate monitor that you fasten in place around your chest. On a screen inside the spinning room you enter the number of your heart rate monitor together with your own maximum heart rate. If you don’t know your maximum heart rate, the computer can calculate an approximate value based on your age. Feel free to ask the session leader for help.
Spinning with a heart rate monitor is available in several variants, including Spin distans puls and Spin intervall puls.
Trying for the first time? Come in plenty of time. You will need to allow time to collect the heart rate monitor, log in to the computer and to make your settings on the spin bike before the session begins. Feel free to ask the leader or session host for help or advice.
